Why Does Ken Keep Writing Sermons?
To any of us who cannot hear the Word, to any of us who remain in our troubled house or job, failed loves or detached children, or locked in a past prison, he comes and opens the door and little beams of light slip in and our escape seems possible. We begin to hear trees swaying – a rush of wind blows through us, lifts the weight of days and years. We see that the star still shines.
Drawn by a call, he must listen for the wind and rain – feel the crush of storms – so he can fill the everlasting cup to offer to those of us who are imprisoned and reduce our sentence. He moves about among us and hearing him, some of us may ask, “How can I let go?” and he can pass to us the sun to interrupt dark clouds.
So, through Ken, freedom and the Spirit will answer our fearful hearts.
